Waxing Tips

Hair Growth
Keep hair long enough for the wax to grip it. Two to three weeks of growth, or about a quarter of an inch, is ideal for the leg, underarm and bikini hair.

Exfoliate
Gently exfoliate your skin a day or two before waxing, but skip harsh scrubs the day of your waxing appointment. Exfoliating opens up the hair follicles making waxing less painful and also helps prevent ingrown hairs.

Moisturize
Moisturize well on the days leading up to your appointment as hydrated skin allows the wax to release more easily. Try to avoid moisturizing on the day of your waxing session as it can interfere with the wax’s grip on the hair.

Medications
Certain medications can leave skin susceptible to injury during waxing. Discontinue retinol-based products for two weeks before waxing. Accutane users should stop taking their medication for a minimum of 6 months before waxing. Before making any changes to your prescription medications, talk to your dermatologist.

Tanning & Sunburns
Please avoid using a tanning bed 48 Hours prior to your waxing appointment. Do not wax sunburnt skin!
